Creating a Model Using a Model Template

Create a new model without adopting previous modeling.

Prerequisites

The repository which the model should be created in is running.

Context

You want to create a new model and start modeling there. You can select a template for this to help you when modeling.

You can open the wizards with the New command in the application menu or with the Create a new model... link on the start page.

The wizard appears and leads you through the four steps to create your new model.

Step 1: Create a new model

How to proceed
  1. Select the repository which contains the model you want to create in the Repository drop-down list. If you have called the dialog from an open model, this model's repository is pre-selected.
  2. Enter the name you want in the Name field. This name must be unique within the repository.
  3. Enter the password which the administrator should use for logging-in in the top password field.
  4. Enter the repository password for the repository selected above in the bottom password field.
  5. The Next button takes you to Step 2.

Step 2: Select a source for the new model

  1. Select the source for the new modelClick on a model template.

    This automatically takes you to step 3.

  1. Select a model template.
  2. The Next button takes you to Step 4.

Step 4: Ready to create a new model

How to proceed
  1. Check the information you entered.
  2. If everything is alright, click on the Finish button.

    The model is created. This may take some time.

  3. You will then be logged-in to the new model. Select the "Model Administrator" user.
  4. Use the Configuration command from the application menu to jump to the configuration editor.You can set users with the Configuration>Model Administration>Manage Users command. Once you have done this, log-out and log-in again as the user of your choice.
